Terms of Use
Effective date / Last updated: September 4, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of RanchTask’s website, forms, communications, and marketplace/referral services (collectively, the “Service”). “RanchTask,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to RanchTask. By using the Service or submitting a task or provider application, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement to use the Service to request, offer, or arrange paid services. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate and current.
2. What RanchTask Does—and Does Not Do
RanchTask may receive task requests, provider information, and other details and may use that information to help introduce or connect customers with potentially relevant independent providers. RanchTask does not guarantee that a match will be available, that any provider will accept a job, or that any customer will hire a provider.
For construction, home-improvement, contracting, or other regulated work, RanchTask is intended only to function as a referral/connection service. RanchTask does not solicit, negotiate, execute, or accept payment under a construction or home-improvement contract on behalf of a provider; does not set the scope or price of such a contract for the parties; and does not undertake or promise to complete the construction project. The customer and provider must contract directly with each other and, unless RanchTask later introduces a legally compliant payment service under separate terms, payments for work must be made directly between the customer and provider.
3. Independent Providers; No Employment or Agency
Providers are independent persons or businesses and are not RanchTask employees. Nothing in the Service creates an employment, agency, franchise, partnership, fiduciary, or joint-venture relationship between RanchTask and a provider or customer. Providers control the manner and means of their own work, subject to their agreement with the customer and applicable law.
4. Provider Qualifications, Licensing, Insurance, Permits, and Legal Compliance
Providers are solely responsible for determining and maintaining every license, registration, certification, permit, bond, insurance policy, workers’ compensation coverage, vehicle authorization, animal-transport authorization, tax registration, and other qualification required for the services they advertise or perform. Requirements vary by job and location and can change.
RanchTask may ask providers for license or insurance information, but unless RanchTask expressly states in writing that a specific credential was verified, the presence of information on the Service is not verification. RanchTask does not currently represent that providers are background-checked, licensed, bonded, insured, certified, or otherwise qualified. Customers must independently verify credentials and legal requirements before hiring. For California contracting work, customers should independently verify contractor license status with the Contractors State License Board when a license is required.
Providers must not advertise, bid, contract for, or perform work that they are not legally authorized or qualified to perform. Customers and providers are each responsible for determining whether permits, inspections, written contracts, disclosures, cancellation notices, or other legal requirements apply.
5. Customer Responsibilities
Customers must provide truthful, reasonably complete information about the requested work, location, access conditions, known hazards, animals, utilities, terrain, structures, and other facts material to safely evaluating the job. Customers are responsible for selecting a provider, checking references and credentials, reviewing estimates, obtaining required approvals, and entering into an appropriate written agreement directly with the provider.
6. Provider Responsibilities
Providers must accurately describe their identity, business, experience, service area, credentials, licensing and insurance status. Providers are responsible for inspecting or evaluating jobs as appropriate, providing their own estimates and contracts, complying with wage, tax, safety, licensing, environmental, transportation, animal-welfare, and other applicable laws, and performing accepted work professionally and safely.
7. Estimates, Contracts, Payments, Cancellations, and Disputes
Any estimate, bid, scope, schedule, warranty, cancellation policy, payment term, deposit, refund, or other job term is between the customer and provider unless RanchTask expressly agrees otherwise in a separate written agreement. RanchTask is not a party to the customer-provider contract and is not responsible for collecting or refunding job payments. Customers and providers should put material job terms in writing. Any disagreement concerning work quality, payment, delays, damage, cancellation, refunds, warranties, liens, or performance must be resolved between the customer and provider, subject to applicable law.
8. Ranch, Farm, Animal, Equipment, and Property Risks
Rural work can involve inherent and significant risks, including livestock and animal behavior, trailers and hauling, tractors and heavy equipment, fencing, tools, uneven terrain, trees, fire, dust, weather, utilities, structures, vehicles, chemicals, and other hazards. RanchTask does not supervise jobs or control job sites. Customers and providers are responsible for evaluating risks, taking appropriate safety precautions, complying with applicable safety and animal-welfare rules, and maintaining appropriate insurance. Nothing in these Terms waives rights or duties that cannot lawfully be waived.
9. Prohibited Uses
You may not use the Service to commit or facilitate unlawful activity; misrepresent identity, qualifications, licensing, insurance, pricing, or job facts; infringe another person’s rights; harass, threaten, discriminate unlawfully, defraud, spam, scrape, interfere with site security, introduce malicious code, or misuse another person’s information. You may not post or offer work involving illegal animal activity, stolen property, unlawful dumping, prohibited hazardous materials, or work you are legally prohibited from requesting or performing.
10. Communications
By submitting contact information, you authorize RanchTask to contact you about your request, application, account, safety, support, and marketplace activity using the email address or phone number you provide. This does not by itself constitute consent to receive automated marketing texts or calls where separate consent is legally required. You are responsible for keeping your contact information accurate.
11. Information You Submit
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant RanchTask a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, and share that content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and provide the Service, including sharing relevant task details with potential providers and relevant provider details with potential customers. Do not submit confidential information that is unnecessary for the requested connection.
12. RanchTask Intellectual Property
The RanchTask name, branding, website design, text, graphics, and other RanchTask-created materials are owned by or licensed to RanchTask and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may use the Service only for its intended personal or business marketplace purposes and may not copy or exploit RanchTask materials without permission except as allowed by law.
13. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service may rely on or link to third-party services, including hosting, form-processing, email, mapping, payment, analytics, or other providers. Third parties operate under their own terms and privacy practices. RanchTask is not responsible for third-party services outside RanchTask’s control.
14. Suspension and Removal
RanchTask may reject, remove, restrict, or suspend content, requests, provider listings, applications, or access when reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, enforce these Terms, investigate suspected fraud or safety concerns, or protect the Service. RanchTask is not obligated to list, refer, or continue serving any particular provider or task.
15. No Endorsement; No Guarantee
A referral, introduction, listing, or communication from RanchTask is not an endorsement or guarantee. To the fullest extent permitted by law, RanchTask does not guarantee the identity, honesty, availability, qualifications, licensing, insurance, workmanship, safety, pricing, legality, timeliness, or results of any customer, provider, job, or transaction.
16. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation or that every submission or communication will be delivered. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some exclusions may not apply to you.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RanchTask and its owners, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, lost profits, lost data, loss of use, personal injury, death, animal injury or loss, property damage, or losses arising from a customer-provider relationship or job, except to the extent such liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. RanchTask does not exclude liability that applicable law prohibits us from excluding.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RanchTask’s aggregate liability arising out of the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) amounts you paid directly to RanchTask for the Service during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) $100. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law.
18. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless RanchTask and its owners, officers, employees, and agents from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, judgments, costs, and reasonable attorneys’ fees arising from your content, your violation of these Terms or law, or your own acts or omissions in connection with a job or transaction. This provision does not require you to indemnify a party for liability to the extent caused by that party’s own conduct where such indemnification is prohibited by law.
19. Governing Law and Disputes with RanchTask
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where federal law or another jurisdiction’s mandatory law applies. Before filing a lawsuit against RanchTask, you agree to send a written description of the dispute to support@ranchtask.com and allow 30 days for an informal attempt to resolve it, unless waiting would cause a claim to expire or applicable law permits immediate action. These Terms do not require arbitration and do not waive any non-waivable right to bring a claim in an appropriate court.
20. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update the Service and these Terms. We will post the revised Terms with a new “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice when reasonably appropriate. Your continued use after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law. Changes do not retroactively eliminate rights that cannot lawfully be changed without additional consent.
21. General Terms
If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect to the extent permitted by law. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; RanchTask may transfer these Terms in connection with a reorganization, sale, or transfer of the Service, subject to applicable law. Headings are for convenience only.
